Government House Adelaide is the oldest consistently occupied Government House in Australia. It is the working home of the Governor South Australia.

His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR Governor of South Australia and Mrs Liz Scarce invite community volunteers to participate in special guided tours of the public rooms of the House.

Our Trainers

Teresa Forest 

Professional Qualifications: Arts, Education, Counselling, Drug Education and Workplace Training. 

Teresa has over 30 years experience working in the public, private, political and not for profit sector. She has been a High School Principal, Superintendent of Education, CEO, Adviser to  two Government Ministers and Consultant to a myriad of organisations. Her current role as VSA & NT Training Consultant involves the design and delivery of training programs, mentoring, organisational reviews, strategic planning and governance enhancement. She is passionate about the application of National Standards in the third sector and is also a volunteer. 

Dr Jennifer Adams

Jennifer has a rich background in social sciences, anthropology and social work gained over many years in statutory social work and in funding and governance capacities within the SA Government. She further honed these skills through volunteer activities in community organisations, which offered her rich opportunities for sharing of skills and abilities.

An interest in volunteering spans many years and is reflected in her professional and personal life. Being particularly passionate about the importance of effective communication in volunteering - Jennifer has taught in this area at university and vocational levels over many years.


Jo Swiggs
Jo has had more than 20 years experience in senior roles within the aged care sector with a specific interest in the development of education programmes and a passion to 'make a difference'. Residing and working overseas gave her an insight into the challenges or living in a country where the language and culture was 'foreign'. She describes the experience as "wonderful, empowering and empathetic".
Jo believes that delivering training is not only an opportunity to share one's knowledge and experiences and working with a great team, but an opportunity to learn from the participants. 

Erica Majba

Erica Majba has had a long career as an educator in the public, private and TAFE sectors.
In the late 90s she made a career change moving to financial services working for local, national and international corporations in a variety of roles.
Recently Erica has been a business coach for AMP. Erica's passion throughout her working career has been to support the development of women, through her workplace connections and as a member of the service organisation of Zonta International.
She has had many mentoring experiences in the past 20 years and this interest has led her to develop and manage the Golden Gurus mentoring program for VSA&NT.

Anna Williamson

Anna has a degree in social science and considerable experience in the volunteer and disability sector.
She has been a Volunteer Manager in programs offering social support to isolated people with a disability. She has supported Volunteering SA&NT, Disability Advocacy and Complaints and Leveda. Anna has trained community organisations and schools in child safety for 5 years and has created disability awareness programs. She is passionate about quality training being at the core of excellent community enterprises and adding huge value to the whole community.

Melanie Lambert

Melanie has been training volunteers and volunteers managers all her working life and - we are pleased she decided to relocate from the UK to Adelaide.
Having worked in numerous areas of the not-for-profit sector, from youth work to journalism, older people's services to organisational development, Melanie has delivered equally diverse training programs within the sector. A keen communicator, Melanie has a masters degree in languages & a post graduate diploma in journalism. She holds a certificate in volunteer management and a post-graduate diploma in equality & discrimination studies.
Melanie's experience will be an asset for volunteers from care agencies and facilities that care for the aged and support at home.
