National Volunteer Week 14-20 May 2012

Volunteers - Every One Counts

National Volunteer Week (NVW) is the largest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia, and provides an opportunity to highlight the role of volunteers in our communities and to say thank you to the more than 6.4 million Australians who volunteer

Finding A Position

If you are looking for a volunteer position then you have come to the right place!

We have a large database of available positions for you to choose from. There are a number of ways for you to find the position that best suits you.

1. Using the Search Box

Step 1 - To start your search, enter details in one or more of the fields. Clicking one field only, for example, TYPE or KEYWORD, provides a greater choice of positions.

Step 2 - If you enter TYPE, you will bring up volunteer positions in agencies with a particular service focus, for example, working with CHILDREN AND YOUTH or positions in the HEALTH sector. Clicking OTHER will include positions in the Community Services and Local Government sectors.

Choosing a KEYWORD, for example 'gardening' or 'library' can bring up positions relating to an activity or volunteer role.

If you choose to enter a POSTCODE, it will search for positions in this area, plus five postcodes above and below.

AGE is only relevant if you are looking for a position for a young person 14 - 18 years of age.

Step 3 - Once you have clicked on search you will be shown positions that match your criteria. Click 'more details' for further information.

Step 4 - If you find a position you want to apply for, click on 'Contact us about this position' and follow the prompts to send in your details.

2. Talking with one of the VSA&NT Referral Service interviewers

Step 1 - Phone or come into a VSA & NT Office in South Australia or the Northern Territory to make an appointment

Step 2 - An experienced interviewer will talk to you about your interests and skills, options for volunteering, what location would suit you best - so you can be linked with an organisation needing volunteers.

If you are unable to come into one of our offices, we can book a telephone interview for you.
