National Volunteer Week 14-20 May 2012

Volunteers - Every One Counts

National Volunteer Week (NVW) is the largest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia, and provides an opportunity to highlight the role of volunteers in our communities and to say thank you to the more than 6.4 million Australians who volunteer.

NVW is celebrated in a number of different ways, depending upon the organisations and individuals involved. Formal ceremonies, morning teas, picnics, exhibitions and a whole range of events are held, as well as more informal events and private acts of recognition, all with the purpose of celebrating the work that volunteers do in our community and thanking volunteers for the contribution they make. Find the National Volunteer Week logos and more information here

Join us for a March down King William Street on Monday 14 May 2012.

The March to celebrate National Volunteer Week will start at the Torrens Parade Grounds, commencing at 10:30am, and finish at Victoria Square near the fountain where the formal launch will take place at 12noon.

All Volunteer Involving Organisations are encouraged to participate and invite their volunteers. Numbers per group will be restricted to represent the diversity of organisations in South Australia.
Banners/Flags/Signage are essential to promote your group so make sure you brings along these items.   Some refreshments will be served after the march.

More information and registration details will follow soon.
