Volunteers - Every One Counts

National Volunteer Week (NVW) is the largest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia, and provides an opportunity to highlight the role of volunteers in our communities and to say thank you to the more than 6.4 million Australians who volunteer


 

 

An overview of last year's State Volunteer Congress

To Infinity and Beyond  celebrated the 10th anniversary of the United Nations International Year of Volunteers (IYV+10), with the Office for Volunteers joining forces with Volunteering SA&NT to deliver an expanded Congress on Monday 5 December 2011 at the National Wine Centre.

The successful congress featured celebrity advocate for wellbeing, Dr John Tickell and trend-spotter and futurist,Tim Longhurst. Mr Brenton Ragless of Channel 9 and Mr Tony Piccolo, Chair of the Ministers Advisory Group on Volunteering, helped throughout the day as emcee's.

This year, the Congress action  continued until Friday 9 December with a range of free training and information sessions.
